December Birthdays, Whine and Comment

If you're like me and have a birthday in December (mine is 12/31) then you know that we are shortchanged in the birthday present department. I don't remember ever getting a present that wasn't wrapped in Christmas gift wrap (if wrapped at all). Usually I got a "combined" birthday and Christmas present. My sister's birthday is only 2 weeks after mine (in January) but she NEVER got combined presents, or presents wrapped in Santa paper! Why do families think that being born in December automatically excludes you from a real birthday present. And let's not even talk about birthday parties! You might think that since mine is on New Years Eve, that I would be a partying fool. No, everyone goes to celebrate New Years, not my birthday! Okay, I'm done whining. Feel free to comment and whine all you want if you're an ignored December birthday person!

A Christmas Camel on Ice Skates!

We added another "critter" to our Laughing Tree ornament collection at , although I'm not sure critter is the best term for this one. John's designed a colorful, funky Christmas Camel that's ready to hang on someone's tree. This one is sure to make your tree laugh! We call her Carmen camel, and she's wearing not only a Santa hat but is sporting her shiny blue ice skates. She'll be stylin' as she waits for an oasis pond to freeze over, lol. This would be a truly unique and humorous gift for that hard to buy for person on your list!

You'll find more unique ornaments and magnets in our shop. We'd love for you to come and browse for a bit!

Laughing Fridge has ventured into the ornament business so now you can make your tree laugh, and not just your fridge!

In our Etsy shop we have listed a few ornaments already. We are also offering a customization to turn any magnet in our store into an ornament.

There are 2 options:

1. We can simply take the magnet off the back and paint it one color. Once the painting is finished, we add sparkly glitter, drill a hole, spray the back with clear gloss lacquer, and add an ornament string.

2. We take the magnet off and paint the back to match as if you were looking at the magnet character from behind. This entails a bit more detailed work. Once the painting is finished, we drill a hole, spray the back with clear gloss lacquer, and add the ornament string.

Voila! You can have a really unique ornament for your Christmas tree, or give it as a fun gift!

We are adding new critters to our collection of magnets; Owls! The first one to grace our shelves is Hooty Potter, a wise old wizard owl. We have 3 other owls that will be listed this week as well. Donna drew the design, and John handcut and painted them. Donna's still trying to finish painting her first owl, but it's slow going when you work outside the home full-time! Here is Hooty and a group shot of all 4 of the owls that John has finished. Hope they make you smile!
