New Blog is Having a Yummy Giveaway!

I'd like to introduce you to a brand new blog created by a friend of mine.  As part of the "Grand Opening", she's having a giveaway to entice new followers:

Her blog is all about researching snack foods that taste yummy, but that don't contain high fructose corn syrup, fructose, and any type of hydrogenated oils.  She rates each snack with 1 - 5 yummy stars, based on her tastes of course.  This will be a great blog for anyone who is concerned about eating healthy, but would like snack foods that taste better than the box they came in!

She's rated a few foods already, so check out her blog and enter the contest at the same time!  This is what you could win - a very cool pendant from

Good Luck!

Take a look around Susan's shop and her blog, The Redhead's Homestead. She makes fantastic jewelry, and is a very nice person too (no, I don't get an extra entry for flattery)!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

We received the nicest Valentine ever from one of our Etsy teammates on The Loud and Wacky Street Team! Debbie, known as soulinchains on Etsy, created this wonderful card especially for me and John. Trust me, she got our likenesses perfect!  Just like "An American Gothic", there we are with the paintbrush between us.  And yes, that's a UFO above us. It belongs to John but it doesn't fit in our garage.

Thank you so much for this great Valentines Day card, Souli!

Be sure to visit her shop, she knits the cutest mini bags!

December Birthdays, Whine and Comment

If you're like me and have a birthday in December (mine is 12/31) then you know that we are shortchanged in the birthday present department. I don't remember ever getting a present that wasn't wrapped in Christmas gift wrap (if wrapped at all). Usually I got a "combined" birthday and Christmas present. My sister's birthday is only 2 weeks after mine (in January) but she NEVER got combined presents, or presents wrapped in Santa paper! Why do families think that being born in December automatically excludes you from a real birthday present. And let's not even talk about birthday parties! You might think that since mine is on New Years Eve, that I would be a partying fool. No, everyone goes to celebrate New Years, not my birthday! Okay, I'm done whining. Feel free to comment and whine all you want if you're an ignored December birthday person!
